I’m much impressed with the IYE curriculum for reading and writing. Many of the assignments remind me of the work that I did in middle and high school English classes when I was younger—actually learning English grammar, completing challenging writing assignments, and reading classic literature. Whether a student goes on to become a professor of English, as I did, or simply wants to read and write at the highest level, this curriculum will show the way. I wish our schools still used these methods, but I fear that too few of them do.
