Why Advanced Students Need a Different Kind of Prep
Most SAT programs are built for broad audiences. That often means slower pacing, mixed skill levels, and too much time on basics.
This class is different.
We focus exclusively on SAT English so students can go deeper into the skills that matter most:
- Deep understanding of reading passages (necessarily for answering the hardest questions)
- Know the answer—stop guessing
- High-level grammar mastery
- Advanced vocabulary, plus drills for vocab mastery
- Trap answer recognition
- Test-day decision making
We do not primarily teach SAT “tricks.” We teach students how to understand difficult reading and writing questions at a deeper level so performance becomes more consistent under pressure.

Why a Live Summer Intensive Works
Many capable students know what to do, but they have too little time to practice consistently on their own.
An in-person program creates structure, momentum, and accountability.
Summer is the ideal window: no school distractions, no competing deadlines.
Students benefit from:
- Daily focused practice
- Live coaching and correction
- Serious academic environment
- Peer motivation
- Consistent progress over two weeks
- Strong habits before fall testing season
What Students Do in a Typical Day
- Detailed, focused SAT reading analysis
- Advanced grammar instruction
- Extensive vocabulary learning and practice
- Review of most difficult test questions
- Timed SAT Reading & Writing practice
- Strategic error correction and discussion
- Structured breaks for physical activity
- Lunch (provided)

Additional Student Feedback
H. G., Sunnyvale
“Hope you are doing well! I’m excited to share an update on our daughter’s SAT result. She took the September test and scored 780 in English and 790 in Math. She did exceptionally well on her very first SAT, and we are incredibly proud of her! Thank you so much for all your support in helping her achieve this. With the SAT behind her, she can now focus on her other activities and upcoming goals.”
Donghong Y., Millbrae
“Thank you all so much for helping my daughter with her SAT English Prep. She got 1540 this time with English score 760 and we are so happy for her. Can’t believe she got 40 more points in the English part in such a short time. Nat’s SAT Camp truly did an amazing job helping her with this great achievement and we are so grateful for being part of IYETS!!”
Samuel Liu, Harvard University
“Your SAT test prep was … a transformation in the way I understood the English language. [Perfect 800 on Reading and Writing]”
Grace G., Palo Alto
“Hope you are doing well. I wanted to share with you that my son got 1590 on his SAT with 800 in English. Thank you so very much for your help!”
N. P., Sunnyvale
“I just wanted to share with you that I got my first official SAT score back. I got a 1560! I’m super happy. Math is an easy full score (800/800) and English was my main concern but I was able to get a perfect writing (grammar) section score. All the grammar practices we did together helped me improve my writing scores a lot. Parallel structures were super important and colon / semicolon came up a few times also. My final English score was 760 / 800!”
Y. K., Palo Alto, CA
“SAT results came in this morning. Our daughter did well on both reading and writing section. We believe that her Saturday English tutoring and summer SAT review was really helpful in this endeavor. So – a big thanks to you guys. [800 Reading and Writing]”
Application Required
This advanced class is intended for students who are already strong in English and ready for rigorous, fast-paced instruction. Because the class is fast-paced and limited to 8 students, admission is by application.
Applications include information on academic background and recent test scores to help ensure a strong cohort fit. Students who need a different level of support may be better served through private tutoring.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this SAT class only for Cupertino students?
No. Families often join us from Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Saratoga, Palo Alto, and nearby Silicon Valley communities. Sometimes students travel from outside the Bay Area for the program.
Is this class good for students aiming for 750+?
Yes. This program targets the specific problems that students encounter on the 720 plateau so that they can increase their chances of moving above 750 on Reading and Writing.
Is this class for beginners?
No. This program is intended for strong readers and writers who already read at or above grade level and have typically already scored 650 or higher on the SAT Reading and Writing section.
Is math included?
No. Students who take this class have typically already scored 760 or higher on the SAT Math section. This class focuses exclusively on SAT Reading and Writing because that score is often the one holding students back from a total score of 1550.
Will this class help students outside the SAT?
Yes. Strong SAT Reading and Writing performance depends heavily on underlying reading comprehension, analytical thinking, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. Many students find that the habits and skills developed in this class also support AP English, humanities courses, and academic writing more broadly.
Why no homework?
Because students complete substantial guided work during the full-day program and continue with follow-up practice testing, they need a break in the evening so that they can learn well the next day.
How many students are in the class?
Maximum of eight students. Small class size allows for individualized correction, discussion, accountability, and live coaching throughout the day.
Why not a larger class?
Improving reading habits requires individualized feedback and live coaching. A small class gives the teacher more opportunity to focus on individual students, helping them make progress faster.
Do you teach an online version of this class?
No. This program is intentionally taught in person because students focus better, participate more actively, and receive stronger live coaching in an in-person environment. For online instruction, we typically recommend one-to-one tutoring instead.
Why not self-study?
Students stuck at 720 – 740 are typically unaware of the their weaknesses in reading habits. They need live instruction and guidance to coach them to the next level. They also typically benefit from guided vocabulary practice and mandatory vocabulary testing.
I already scored 750 but not 800. Will this class boost my score?
The class might boost your score, but for college applications, you are probably better off spending more time on your activities and on independent projects. At the highest levels of college admissions, activities, initiative, and independent projects matter significantly.
Is a 750 guaranteed?
No. The class is designed for advanced students aiming high, but scores depend on many factors, including effort and starting level.
