Traveling is something that most people enjoy, because it lets them explore new places and experience different cultures. There are many different places to travel to. Some choose big urban cities like New York or San Francisco, others choose relaxing beaches, or some people may even travel all the way to Hawaii. A lot of people also like to travel because of the weather of their location. For instance, some people prefer the cold and chilly Chicago, versus the hot and relaxing weather down in the Florida Keys. There are a lot of places to choose from when traveling. But for me, my favorite place is Washington State because we have family there, there are many landmarks and sights to see, and there are many beautiful national and state parks to go camping.
First of all, my favorite place is the state of Washington because we have extended family there. While we are there, we visit our aunt and uncle’s house. We enjoy various things while we are there. Together, we play many card games and board games. Some of the card games we play are Uno and Spot it. Some of the board games we like to play together are Ticket to Ride, Trekking the National Parks, Sequence, or Exploding Kittens. By chance, if we are there, and a cricket league is streaming at the time of year we visit, we love to get up early due to the 13.5 hour time difference, and sit down on the couch together to watch the innings. In the evenings, after my parents’ and relatives’ office work for the day is complete, my uncle takes us out on a walk around the community that they live in. Since we follow the same path everyday, it has become more like a trail that we follow. This one mile trail covers the most scenic parts of their neighborhood. Because we have been sitting at home all day, we cover two laps around the neighborhood. I remember that this path was away from the street noises, had a lot of tall trees, and I could feel a nice breeze on my face. Clearly, my favorite place is the state of Washington because we have extended family there.
Secondly, my favorite place is the state of Washington because there are many landmarks and sights to see. One time, we went to visit the Seattle Space Needle. When we got there, there was already an hour-long line at the bottom ready to enter the Needle. Once we got in, we skipped the gift shop and took the elevator all the way up to the 100th floor. Once we got off the elevator, we stepped outside onto the glass revolving floor, and watched Seattle 500 feet below us, while we walked on the rotating floor and took several pictures. It was quite cold considering our height outside, but it was quite enjoyable. After enjoying some hot chocolate with my brother at their cafe shop inside, we made our way down to the exit and sped home in our car. Another time, we got a tour of the Boeing airplane factory. I was amazed by the airplane production, procedures, and most of all, how the entire world’s Boeing planes were built in that one big factory. Another time, we woke up at 2 am, and sped to Mount Rainier National Park to catch the sunrise. The sunrise was quite beautiful, and we also did a lot of hiking. We saw the snow on top of the mountains, it was just white and crystal clear. It was also very cold there. As you can see, my favorite place is Washington State because it has many landmarks and sights to see.
Lastly, my favorite place is the state of Washington because my family goes there as a yearly tradition with my relatives. Over the time, we’ve visited various parks in west Washington, and spent a lot of time hiking. Some of the parks that we have been to are Daroga State Park, Mount Rainier, and a lot of others. Some of the things that we like to do while camping are hiking, kayaking, jet skiing, and biking (if possible). Of these, my favorite activities are hiking and jet skiing, because hiking allows me to experience nature, while jet skiing allows me to put my face against the wind. Back at the campsite, I sometimes like to sit in a shamrock, while other times, we can toast smores and enjoy them. This goes to show that my favorite place is the state of Washington because of camping.
In the end, my favorite place is the state of Washington because I get to meet my relatives, explore various landmarks and sights to see, and trek many national and state parks. Every trip there gives me the chance to have fun, spend time with relatives, while making memories, and enjoying traditions that we look forward to year after year. Another thing I enjoy about Washington is how peaceful nature is. Wherever you go exploring nature, you can always feel calm and at peace. Clearly, all these aspects make Washington the best possible place, and I look forward to going to Washington again this summer.
